According to the Corruption Perception Index released by Transparency International, Seychelles scored 66 out of 100 followed by Botswana with 61 and Cabo Verde 57. Despite the poor outing in sub-saharan Africa, Cote d’Ivoire and Senegal improved remarkably in their rankings. Cote d’Ivoire moved from 27 points in 2013 to 35 point in 2018 while Senegal moved from 36 points in 2012 to 45 points in 2018. The Gambia also gained seven points in 2018 with a score of 37 and Eritrea improved with four points scoring 24 in 2018.

The recent gains in these countries could be attributed to reforms in the legal systems, institutions combined with political commitments. See below for other country scores:
